Oversized brushes for dry pipe cleaning

Spider brushes are specially developed, oversized stainless steel brushes for dry pipe cleaning of various applications. These types of brushes work with a large oversize, so that extra friction is created in the pipe. By rotating the brushes at high speeds, it allows for the deposits to be removed quickly and effectively.

This product is manufactured by Goodway Benelux BV and is not part of the Goodway Technologies (USA) product range.

Using the Spider Brushes

Spider brushes are used oversized. The oversize depends on the internal diameter of the pipe. For example, a 300 millimeter brush is recommended for a pipe of 100-150 millimeters. In addition, these brushes work best when powered by a Goodway tube cleaning system, such as the AWT-100X. At high speeds, the brushes will provide the best cleaning effect.

To connect the brushes to the tube cleaning system, you need a flexible shaft. Goodway flexible shafts can be used dry and have a very strong internal core. This is important to be able to absorb the high resistance/torsion created during cleaning.

Applications in the industry

Spider brushes can be used almost anywhere where dry deposits have to be removed without the usage of (high pressure) water or other fluids. Some applications include:

• (Dust or product) extraction pipe in a production factory
• Transport piping in a production process
• Filling or pouring line in a packaging process
• Various tubes from industrial systems, such as fire tube boilers
• Industrial pipes with a layer of deposits, such as rust or corrosion.

Nylon and Stainless Steel

Spider brushes are available in nylon and stainless steel. Nylon is mainly used for the removal of dry, soft to medium-hard deposits. Think of production and extraction pipes from, for example, food manufacturers or production factories. Stainless steel brushes are used for hard deposits, for example: corossion, rust or other hard substances. These types of brushes are almost always used for industrial applications, for example in the petrochemical industry.
