GDS-C92: cleaning and descaling of a plate heat exchanger

An HVAC/R installer had a plate heat exchanger with reduced performance due to internal fouling on the plates. They had previously manually cleaned the heat exchanger; the system had to be completely disassembled and cleaned plate by plate. This was a fairly expensive and lengthy process that easily took the heat exchanger offline for more than a week.

It was decided to carry out the next cleaning using the cleaning-in-place procedure. The GDS-C92 descaling pump system was connected and circulated 80 liters of ScaleBreak-MP for a few hours. The cleaning was completed within half a day and the heat exchanger was returned to service. No disassembly was necessary, which saved the customer a lot of time and money.
